Employee Self Service (ESS) is a technology concept that enables HR departments to optimise processes by allowing employees to manage and maintain their personal data themselves. Through the main functions “Desire”, “Exchange”, “Request”, “Correction”, “Booking”, “Approve”, “Record” and “Activity”, the personal requests of the respective employee are recorded and processed via the ESS centre.

The entire request and approval process runs through the ESS software. Before planning, the “Desire” button allows you, depending on the planning level and the relevant planning period, your individual wishes and interests with regard to individual shifts, absence times, desired working times, on-call or stand-by services, and the respective characteristics (e.g. first aider) and thus to let them flow into the essential service planning.​
